Heavy cream will work well too I am sure. Nestle makes a "table cream" product in a can like evaporated milk but it doesn't seem to be something that is stocked in supermarkets. If you can find light cream, use that if you want to be exact.Gualtier Maldéhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01187323917888507404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4279311869237231755.post-31215667662851631772018-06-15T00:48:50.542-04:002018-06-15T00:48:50.542-04:00Merely a smiling visitor here to share the love (:...Merely a smiling visitor here to share the love (:<br />, btw great design and style.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4279311869237231755.post-87459905851934227512016-04-30T17:25:41.219-04:002016-04-30T17:25:41.219-04:00Thanks for the tips Patricia! I use an 8X8 pan so the slices are smaller and dense. This cake is very rich. I love this cake and so does everyone I serve it to. My recipe calls it Date Pudding and we serve it plain topped with real whipped cream- no cool whip on this one! Of all the desserts served on Thanksgiving, this is the first choice for everyone. Probably heavy cream, though perhaps it should be clotted cream (which is served on the table with tea). As you can see, kkal (above) used a sub and it still worked. Frostings like this are very forgiving.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11692999404326628908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4279311869237231755.post-48354966466479306342013-03-29T01:47:53.902-04:002013-03-29T01:47:53.902-04:00what is table cream?what is table cream?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4279311869237231755.post-11121049398592182442013-01-28T21:50:44.673-05:002013-01-28T21:50:44.673-05:00The grocery store had really good looking medjool ...The grocery store had really good looking medjool dates yesterday, so I bought some and made this cake. I didn't have cream, so I made the frosting with an extra pat of butter and a splash of almond milk -- still good, if a little unconventional. kkalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04151224003371484426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4279311869237231755.post-933928054336337482012-03-27T06:35:18.331-04:002012-03-27T06:35:18.331-04:00Anonymous: Just use the amount you want! Any amount will be just fine.
